Bernie, Zohran, et. al.: "There should be no such thing as billionaires!"

Israel: "Cool. We just took out several of those who were funding terrorism."

Bernie, Zohran, et. al.: "HOW DARE YOU!!!!"

I'm not sure if the United Healthcare guy had gotten all the way to one billion, but he was on his way. I hadn't figured you for a Luigi fangirl; I guess I was wrong.

Perfidy.

The word missing from this conversation is ‘perfidy’.

Israel is many things. An apartheid state. A racist state. A genocidal state. A rogue state. A pariah state.

But it’s also a perfidious state.

Wonderful webinar, as always. I've been saying for a long time that Netanyahu is doing more harm to the Jewish people than to anyone else, except the Palestinians, of course. He is doing more harm to the Jewish people than anyone has done since World War Two, and America was on the right side then.

You're the one embarrassing yourself. Netanyahu has increased antisemitism worldwide many times over. I subscribe to the Times and Post and see comments by people who blame "the Jews" for the genocide in Gaza. I always correct them, whether or not they ever see it. This kind of antisemitism is from the right wing. The left generally confines themselves to criticizing the current government of Israel, which is not antisemitic at all.

Negotiators are generally protected by international law, like ambassadors. Even Hamas. Even the Mouth of Sauron.

That’s in the extended edition of the movie, and it's in serious conflict with Aragorn’s noble character, as elucidated in the book. I recommend reading the book for more insight. As you note, at least don’t get it wrong.

You mean “parley”, as in the scene at Helm’s Deep. Note: even orcs respected that.

We granted safe passage to Nazi generals to surrender, including some whom we later executed (e.g. Jodl). I suppose next you will claim that Hamas is even worse than they were. But Bibi's fan club mistakes spasmodic violence, including war crimes, for strategic brilliance.

There is no Hamas exception to the meaning of safe conduct.

I feel that military attacks on Hamas only can achieve a limited success.

It is necessary, but will not remove it entirely.

It is the underlying concept of Hamas that urgently must be attacked. To remove their motivation for existence.

If they could be persuaded by the arguments here....

"My hope is that the rest of the world doesn't mistake the American people and the nature of this country for this regime and It's the same case that I make about Israel that I hope that people will not mistake the Israeli people and what they are and who they are for this."

There's no mistake. We know who the Israeli people are.

We've seen the TikTok videos of Israeli civilians mocking the dead and Israeli soldiers modelling stolen lingerie. We've seen Israeli civilians taking their children to the hilltop above Gaza to cheer as that small land is annihilated.

But mostly, we have seen the polls of the Israeli people who don't care about children starving in Gaza, who want to expel Muslim citizens, and a near majority who want to kill every man, woman, and child.

If there is evidence of the humanity of the Israeli people outside of their own in-group, please present it.

Don't keep it secret. Show us. Show the world. Just don't gaslight us.

Whenever you’re starting a sentence with, “I hope that Trump will begin to see….,” we’re in real trouble.

Ok, you’re going with the Bad Bibi play?

“A small cabal of messianic extremists”?

No. No, no, no.

Netanyahu and his “far right” ministers aren’t outliers in Israeli society.

They really are mainstream Israelis. Just look at the polling of Israelis for the support of ethnic cleansing in the occupied territories AND of Israeli Palestinian citizens.

Look at how many care about starvation in Gaza.

Look at how many say “there are no innocents in Gaza”, including the L

President of Israel.

Now, if I am right, this act of perfidy will IMPROVE Netanyahu’s poll numbers, even if it will cost the lives of Israeli hostages, because the hostages were always a pretext.

If you believed your own words, you would be demanding that the US cut off all weapons to Israel and sanction them till they fall in line with internationally accepted behavior and get the hostages back.

The fact you don’t, that you won’t, that you wish to do the Bad Bibi play, and feign impotence, is telling.

More news, I hope Substack lets me post twice. This is from the New York Times, about as pro-Netanyahu as media outlets come, and they still reported that Israel just struck a boat that was part of the SUMUD flotilla, docked in Tunisia. The Times doesn't even tell us when 400,000 Israelis march against Netanyahu's policies, or if they mentioned it they hid the article very well. And I later read of an even larger march. But you're not with J Street, are you? There is no reasoning with these Betar types. The Book of Proverbs has an excellent verse about that.
