I do not trust him. He was one of our worst mayors, someone who had no interest in improving the lives of ordinary people, and courted the powerful at the expense of working people. I have no idea what he's trying to do here, but it feels like he's pushing buttons to wiggle into the graces of Democratic progressives, when he's about the least progressive choice out there. If I hadn't heard people touting him for president in 2028 (get real!) I'd be more apt to believe he's just expressing his beliefs without calculation behind them.
